NCAC Seeking Community Input on Cell Tower Location
The NCAC provides comments on items and issues before it, recommends approval or disapproval of them, and submits comments and recommendations that it has adopted to the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission, or other appropriate body. The NCAC serves as a forum for public review of matters identified with sound development.
At next week’s meeting, the council will review the possible cell site locations that were evaluated by the Verizon/Nextel companies and determine the level of community acceptance for each.
Why? To supply to the County Supervisor (Bruce Gibson) with input from the community to help determine if a site other than the proposed Fiscalini Ranch location would be more acceptable, taking in to account cell phone coverage and other reasons.
The NCAC’s authority is advisory and our supervisor wants to hear community opinions - especially whether one of the other locations for the cell site would be acceptable to the residents of Cambria. If you support one of the locations listed below, please come to the meeting next Wednesday at Rabobank. The meeting starts at 7:00 and the discussion regarding this project will probably start between 7:30 and 8:00, depending on how quickly we move through the rest of the agenda. (click here to view the agenda). If you cannot attend the meeting, support of one (or more) of the sites listed below, you can send an email to NCAC by noon on April 16 or send comments by snail mail to P.O. Box 533 in Cambria (must be received on or before April 16). Or call 927-4191 for more information on providing comment.
The discussion will reflect the comments in support of a cell tower made by the Council in January. So the goal of the discussion will be to determine whether one of the other sites would have stronger community support.
