Anne,

What makes you think that if you"clean house" you will do any better? These people, both Board and staff, have put in YEARS of work for this community, would you throw out the baby with the bathwater? Absolutely everyone comes to a position with some foregone conclusions and bias---as adults we are prone to this affliction. I fear the truth is that some people on this website only want other people of their beliefs put in a position of power....and this is why we have free elections, to see who most represents the community. Not all of those that sent in protests on the rate increase think that the Board is corrupt---they just did not want to pay more! this website has a hint of the paranoid in it. It is time to lighten up people! Cambria and its politics are serious, no doubt about it but next to those peoples problems in Galveston and Houston, this isn't even on the radar! It will not be as easy to "clean house" as CFR thinks.
Respectfully,

Thanks go to all of the CFR members who are
continuing to monitor the situation and all efforts being made by CFR to correct the protest count. Very hard, time consuming, aggravating work being done. I thank you all for persisting.

The way this has gone down and has been handled by CCSD does not feel like America to me. It feels more like, what was it called by another reader here...Zimbabwe? Maybe it was Venezuela; but in any case it is so banana republic'ish.
VOTE OUT all CCSD board incumbents in November. Time to clean house.

Tina, I am so glad the Howard Jarvis Association is now in the loop.
In Amanda's piece, she says that so many claims that the CCSD made regarding the "rules" of the count, League of Women Voters, etc. are untrue, it is really time for someone or some outside group to verify and clarify. And by the way, aren't these discussions supposed to be on the other website?
Thanks.

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayer's Assn. has been contacted by
Cambrians for Fiscal Responsibility in relationship to the recent
Proposition 218 protest. At the Aug. 21 board meeting, I read
a copy of the letter sent to the CCSD, in which the Jarvis Assn.
put the CCSD on notice, to preserve all evidence related to
the 218 protest. The Jarvis Assn., in conjunction with CFR, is
continuing to monitor the situation, and is keeping close tabs
on current efforts being made by CFR to correct the protest
count.
